The
Chris Jansen Award was established in recognition of the contributions
made to Nuclear Medicine in South Africa by the late Chris Jansen
during his lifetime. It is intended to encourage young South African
scientists working in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
The
award is made every other year according to an established procedure
and strict criteria and takes the form of a suitably engraved
medal from the Joosub H S Ebrahim Foundation.
CRITERIA
FOR SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS OF THE CHRIS JANSEN AWARD:
- Nominees
shall not be more than 40 years of age by the end of the year
in which the reward is received
- The
scientific contribution of the nominee will be given preference
to the service contribution
- The
person nominated must have been a member of the SASNM for at
least 2 years prior to nomination
